What is the difference between butane and propane gas?

0

From a practical usage standpoint…… Butane & propane have very similar BTU contents. Either can be used to run a cookstove, heater, boiler, etc. For *standard* residential & commercial usage, butane is no longer used and rarely available – propane is what is used in today’s marketplace. The market shifted to propane because butane ceases to produce vapor (the stuff used in appliances) @ about 40 degrees F.
