What is the difference between Britas pitcher filters and faucet filters?
It’s really a personal choice. There’s not a difference in the filters themselves, it’s how you want to use them. The faucet filters are nice because the filter all the water straight off your faucet so you don’t have to keep filling up pitchers. This is good if you want to filter ALL the water you use. The downside it that they can get in the way especially if you have a small sink, and it’s easy to mistakenly use hot water (you shouldn’t use hot water in water filters, although I don’t know the reason why). Pitcher filters are nice because you can keep them on the counter if you like room temperature water, or you can keep them in the fridge if you like cold water. They come in different sizes so you can pick the one that is most suited for you. But, you have to keep filling them up, so if you want to filter all your water, this might be a pain. Personally I prefer the pitcher. I like having more control over the temperature of the water, I don’t like the bulkiness of the faucet filt
We have a faucet filter and we like it much better than Brita. Brita pitchers have been rumored to harbor bacteria, so I’d do some research on that before buying. They always seem to be dirty looking when I use them at other people’s houses. The faucet filter we have is a 10 stage filter from New Wave Enviro Products. Look up their website. I got it at Whole Foods and we replace the filter annually. The faucet filter removes more pollutants than a Brita filter could. We use this filtered water for cooking, washing veggies, and watering plants, in addition to drinking. I use a stainless steel water bottle so I never buy bottled water. I really like the taste of the filtered water.
