What is the difference between Bristol and a British seaside town?
I don’t know much about Blackpool but I live in Cornwall and know St Ives and Newquay and also been to Torquay in Devon and trust me there is a big difference. Bristol is a city, quite a large city and areas like Cornwall are very rural. Bristol has many people of different races living there but in areas like Cornwall has very little people of different races. I am not being racist but I’ve been brought up in Cornwall and visited Bristol and realised that there are many people of different races there which we don’t experience in Cornwall. This has an effective on the clothing you see around you. In places like Bristol you have many high street well known stores but if you visit areas such as Newquay and St Ives many of the shops are independent, often higher priced shops that sell unique items rather than high street chains. Many seaside towns have surfing wear shops and gift shops.
Bristol is not a seaside town although the port is now Avonmouth and the Old Port is something of a marina. the severn Bridge is worth a few photographs and the ship “Great Britain” which lay for years in the Falklands as a hulk is definitely worth seeing as are some of the city churches which give a good indication of the wealth of the city at it’s peak. Blackpool is a bit tatty rough and ready but generally a friendly place especially if you are with a family.
