What is the difference between breath ethanol level and blood alcohol concentration (BAC)?
Ethanol is the form of alcohol found in alcoholic beverages. Breath ethanol level is measured by expired air, for example, by breathing into a special tube that records the amount of alcohol on the breath. Since there is a direct correlation between the amount of alcohol on the breath and the amount in the blood, using a specific ratio, the breath ethanol level is converted into a figure that provides the concentration of alcohol in the blood, or the BAC. Tests performed on AK™ showed that breath ethanol levels were significantly reduced after consuming ALCOHOL ßG KILLER® immediately prior to and immediately after consuming alcohol, therefore the BAC was reduced as well.* *These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.
