What is the difference between Borer and Digger?

0

Web Thingy is composed of two separate programs, namely Borer and Digger. Both Digger and Borer download files with chosen file extensions ( eg .jpg, .mpg etc ) from the web and store them on your hard drive in a place of your choosing. They do so in entirely different ways. Digger starts from a particular website chosen by you and makes a note of all the links referred to on the site while downloading your chosen file types from that site at the same time. It then moves on to the next link it found earlier and does the same again. In theory it could run for ever while touring round millions of websites downloading files. In practice you may well choose to stop it after a while because it has strayed away from your topics of interest. You can also instruct it to avoid or stick to particular web sites eg you could tell it to avoid badsite.com or only look at pages on goodsite.com! Borer, on the other hand, is very specific. It downloads a simple consecutive series from just one website
