Like one answer said…a blood test is just that. I am a nurse and the doctors order all kinds of different blood tests…H&H…CBC…BMP….then there is “THE RED TOP” which we generally know is testing for that….it just has to be ordered. You can’t have blood drawn and think they are automatically testing it for AIDS because they aren’t…it is ordered.

A blood test can be a number of things but an hiv test shows anti-bodies of an infection in the blood cells. Which is total different!

um its the exact same thing. Some blood test can detect other things besides HIV but usually its the way to know if you are HIV +. HIV test is simply…HIV test.
