The software refers to the application software (e.g. VeriAdmin, MV1200 Demo App) that the PC uses to communicate to the Veri-Series device. The firmware is the “low level” software located on the processor board portion of the Veri-Series unit. The firmware contains the mathematical functions required for the fingerprint comparison to occur at the Veri-Series unit.
