Pre-release is a commercial release which is not a completely finalized version that is offered at a reduced pre-release price. A beta release can be either not a feature complete product or an unstable product which is offered for free until a pre-release or release candidate versions are offered. A release candidate is a version which is released after thorough testing by Gizmox.
