What is the difference between Batch Mode and Real Time?

Batch processing means that the insurance carrier will adjudicate all claims at a predetermined time rather than on an as received basis. The claim will usually be adjudicated later in the day or overnight. Real time processing means that when you submit a claim, the claims processor will adjudicate it and send a response back to you immediately (approximately 20-40 seconds). Refer to page 8 of the Dental Office User Guide for more information.
