What is the difference between Basic with CAD Environment and Basic with Advanced Geometry support?

0

The main difference between Basic with CAD Environment and Basic with Advanced Geometry support, is that Basic with CAD Environment included DDN, which is no longer supported. Since the necessary DDN functionality has been integrated into ICEM CFD Mesh Editor, as a replacement for the DDN functionality in a more in-line process, Advanced Geometry support provides an extra key to use the ICEM CFD Mesh Editor for geometry creation. This additional license key is called aiedgeom. Thus, any customer who does not use DDN as primary CAD tool for creating geometry for CFD meshing there is no loss of functionality to change from CAD Environment to Advanced Geometry support. If a customer has a preference for a CAD system, it may be better for them to convert to ANSYS ICEM CFD Basic with CAD Direct Interface.
