Barrier-Pex is used in radiant heat systems when a cast iron boiler is used as the heat source. It has an exterior layer to minimize oxygen permeation, which protects ferrous metals and corrosion. Barrier-Pex possesses the same qualities and features of NIBCO PEX except Barrier-Pex has no UV-Inhibitor and is not listed for potable water usage.
