What is the difference between Bacterial, viral and fungal diseases?
Bacterial diseases are caused by baceria. (Tiny one celled creatures that have cells very different from our own, much simpler than ours, with their DNA “loose”in a ring rather than enclosed in a nucleus.). Bacteria eat and reproduce by dividing. Fungal disease are caused by a fungus, a relative of mushrooms. They have large, complex cells that (like our own) have their DNA enclosed in a nucleus. Fungi eat and reproduce. Viral diseases are caused by viruses. (Bits of DNA or RNA in a protein shell that reprogram our own cells to make them virus factories. They neither eat nor divide, and do nothing without a living host cell.
