What is the difference between backscatter x-rays and medical x-rays?
Backscatter x-rays only penetrate approximately ΒΌ of an inch before the rays are scattered, whereas medical X-rays transmit completely through the body. For comparison, the CastScope emits less than 10 microRem of radiation per scan and a typical medical X-ray emits 10,000 to 100,000 microRem per scan.
