What is the difference between Archons specifications and other specifications?
There are several ‘other’ types of specifications. First, there are the free variety provided graciously by the BAS manufacturers and installers. Second, there are the off the shelf ‘one size fits all’ type; these are the one’s that are written once and reused over and over again. These too may also be a manufacturer’s specification. In the first case, as with anything free, it will usually come with some cost. That cost is that it is not written with the client’s best interest in mind. A specification written by a manufacturer is often meant to give an advantage to that particular brand, rather than to its competitor’s brand. In addition, it is unlikely that the vendor will invest the necessary time to write it specifically for a particular project since nobody is actually paid to write the specification. In the second case, being a recycled ‘generic’ specification, it would also lack the specifics to apply to any particular project. In both cases, it begs the question as to what valu
