What is the difference between antique and estate jewelry?
The term estate basically means previously owned and refers to the items that were made from 1950 to present. These items that are not old enough to be classified as antique and do not come from the original period for that specific style of jewelry. For example, an antique art deco ring would have originally been made during the 1920-30s. However, art deco designs were also made decades later. These items would then be referred to as estate art deco and could have been made anytime after 1950.
