What is the difference between analogue and digital camcorders?
Analogue camcorders traditionally used tapes, typically VHS-C (smaller version of VHS video format) or 8mm tape formats. Hi8 has a higher resolution, with around 400 vertical lines, compared to 270 on VHS-C and 8mm. With digital technology, recording media has changed; as well as recording to tape, many models record to memory card, DVD or hard drive.
