What is the difference between an Osteopath and Chiropractor?

0

Osteopaths treat ALL of the joints and the muscles of the body, not just the spine, using mobilization, functional and muscle energy techniques to encourage movement in areas that do not move normally, both in the spine or peripheral joints. Because of the view taken between the muscles and the joints osteopaths tend to see a lot of sports injuries. Some Osteopaths have had extra training in cranial osteopathy. Some patients say that osteopaths are gentler than chiropractors. Chiropractors aim to make regular and repeated adjustments to spinal joints to treat subluxation which they often diagnose by x-ray. They tend to do less soft tissue treatment than osteopaths. They use the title doctor but they are not medical doctors only a doctor of chiropractor.
