Blood always remain in the blood vessels and does not come in direct contact with the cells of the body in a close circulatory system. While in an open circulatory system blood come in direct contact with the cells of the body and baths them. Circulatory fluid(blood) contain respiratory pigment HAEMOGLOBIN and moves with in the arteries, veins and capillaries in close system. And blood (haemolymph) is colourless having no respiratory pigment and flows in the body cavity called hoemocoel in an open system. The close system also transport gases(oxygen and carbondioxide). In an open circulatory system gases are not transport by the blood but by the tracheal system.
