What is the difference between an Initial Registration and Activity and Expenditure Reports?
Initial Registrations are filed for each employer a lobbyist represents. The initial registration discloses the person on whose behalf a lobbyist has been hired, the industry of the client and the type of legislation, executive agency decision or retirement system decision in which the client has an interest. Activity and Expenditure Reports are filed with the Legislative Inspector General’s Office three times a year. These reports provide specific information about the agent’s and/or employer’s lobbying activities and expenditures made for the benefit of a public official during a certain reporting period. • How do I terminate my engagements(s)? • Engagements can be terminated by either an agent or employer, using your Ohio Lobbying Activity Center (OLAC) account. • Agents: Once you terminate an engagement OLAC will allow you to file your final AER for the current reporting period. • Employers: If you are terminating ALL of your engagements you will also be allowed to file your final
