What is the difference between an executor / administrator / personal representative?
• An executor is a person appointed under a Will to administer an estate. • An administrator is a person charged with administering an estate where there is no will or where a will fails to appoint an executor. • Personal representative is the ‘catch all’ term used to describe both executors and adminstrators.
