What is the difference between an event and a task in the Security Reporting Center Scheduler?

0

When a profile is configured to run in the Scheduler, a scheduled event is created. The scheduled event tells the Scheduler what profile to run, how frequently, and how to handle the reports. When the scheduled event is created, the scheduler agent breaks the event into tasks. Depending on the number of reports needed, a single event can be broken down into more than twenty tasks. The scheduler agent then handles these individual tasks, one at a time. A task can be the analysis of single day’s worth of log data, migration from the FastTrends database to the content database, or creation of each individual report.
