An esthetician is a specialist in skin care. An aesthetician is also a skin care specialist, although esthetician is the more commonly found spelling. Aesthetics, on the other hand, is the branch of philosophy devoted to the nature of beauty, art and taste. An aesthetic person has an appreciation of beauty or anything that is pleasant to the senses, but is not called an aesthetician.
