What is the difference between an Associate of Applied Science degree and an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree?
Wake Tech offers two types of degrees, Applied Science degrees (A.A.S.) and College/University Transfer degrees. (A.A. and A.S.) Applied Science degrees: Associate of Applied Science degree programs are designed to give students job-ready skills that allow them to enter the workforce upon completion of their program of study. These degrees are also transferrable to many colleges and universities through our Choices programs. Associate of Applied Science programs are ideally suited for students who wish to enter the workforce upon completion of their degree, or are not sure if they want to complete a Bachelors degree. College/University Transfer degrees: The Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Science/Pre-Engineering programs are traditional college and university transfer programs.
