What is the difference between an AS/AA degree and an AAS degree?
The AS (Associate in Science) and AA (Associate in Arts) degrees prepare you to transfer to a four-year college or university. TCC has guaranteed transfer agreements with some area colleges and universities. Our counselors work with you to maximize your transfer credits. The AAS (Associate in Applied Science) are Occupational/Technical Programs that prepare you for entry-level jobs or promotions in your field. You also get a solid background in general education. Some AAS programs transfer to specific four-year colleges, please check with your counselor or advisor for further information.
