What is the difference between an artist and a rightsholder?
Artists are the people that make the music. Rightsholders are the people who retain rights to distribute that music. A lot of times this is the same person, particularly if you are creating your own original music and distributing it yourself. If you are signed to a label, then the label is often the rightsholder.
