Humans are classified as a great ape. I’m a great ape. You’re a great ape. Differences between our species and those other apes: 1. Control of fire. The other extant apes don’t put stones in a circle to keep fire from getting out of control. 2. Knapping of stone. The other extant apes use stone tools, and even have favorites, but none of the other apes will systematically break a stone to deliberately make a better tool. 3. Religion. The other extant apes do not worship a god or gods.
