What is the difference between an acoustical consultant and a sound system designer?
These are two related but different skills. A sound system designer only attempts to fit a sound system into an existing space. An acoustical consultant, by contrast, considers sound system design in terms of sound system-room interaction. It is common for the client to question, ‘is this a sound system or acoustics problem?’ We use a combination of critical listening, SIA-Smaart software and speaker prediction software to understand and properly analyze both aspects.
