What is the difference between an account, a profile and a delivery option?

0

An account establishes your identity and provides important administrative information. A delivery option defines the methods of delivery that are available to you – an email address or pager information, for instance. A profile is a set of rules that you define that tells the system what you want, when you want it and how you would like it formatted. The reason that we’ve deployed the system with this three-layer structure is to enable you to define complex rulesets without having to create multiple accounts. That way, you don’t have to worry about keeping track of and entering in usernames and passwords for each individual profile. It also allows you to create multiple profiles for the same delivery option (eg., email address) without having to pay extra.
