What is the difference between an 18-credit option diploma and a 24-credit option diploma?
The 18-credit option is an accelerated graduation program that allows a student who meets the criteria to complete his/her high school graduation requirements in 3 years. Per Florida statute, a student and his/her parent must select the option during the 9th grade year. The requirements do differ from the 24-credit option which is the traditional 4-year program. To consider the differences and to make good choices, review the requirements for these 2 options at http://www.browardschools.com/info/newcomers.htm Talk with your school counselor who is familiar with these diploma options to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each.
