The AHA and ARC are two separate non-profit organizations dedicated to providing care education to people around the world. The American Heart Association’s goal, to reduce death and disability from heart disease and stroke, is more directly related to the advancement of CPR & AED standards. The two organizations almost universally adopt the same protocols, however, and you will receive very similar and high quality instruction from either type of class. As a group, Heartsafe instructors are made up of members of the American Red Cross Team And Network (ARCTAN) and MIT Emergency Medical Services (MIT EMS), which is closely tied to the ARC and AHA, respectively.
