What is the difference between alpha and beta hydroxy acids and does your product line contain either of these?
Alpha and beta hydroxy acids are very different from each other in structure, and therefore have different effects upon the skin. Alpha hydroxy acids, such as the lactic acid contained in the Theraderm Fruit Acid Exfoliant, are more effective as exfoliating agents. Although the Theraderm Skin Renewal System does not contain beta hydroxy acids, Therapon’s Reversion Acne Control System does utilize salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid, as an effective acne medication.
