What is the difference between Alesse and Aviane pills?
Aviane is the equivalent of the brand name, Alesse. It is exactly the same oral contraceptive as Alesse, with the same concentrations of 20 micrograms ethinyl estradiol and 100 micrograms of levonorgestrel. A pharmacist cannot change your prescription to another drug without your physician’s permission. The only changes permitted are generic equivalent and brand equivalents.
