Aeronautical engineering relies on gaining an understanding of aerodynamics and how to design aircrafts that are durable, wind-resistant, and in some cases how to deal with different levels of gravity from higher altitudes.

Aerospace engineers deal more with the mechanics of outerspace flight and the different variables that can affect space travel.

I also have a degree in Aerospace Engineering. The main difference is that aeronautical will focus more on designing aircraft, while aerospace will focus more on spacecraft and space sciences(i.e. orbital mechanics, different propulsion systems, etc.
