What is the difference between adult supervised probation and court probation?
Court probation, or summary probation, is granted for some misdemeanor law violations. These cases are supervised by the District Attorney’s office, not the Probation Department. Any violations of summary probation would be filed by the District Attorney’s office. Supervised probation is granted most often for felony law violations. These cases are supervised by the Probation Department, and a probation officer is assigned to supervise the matter and advise the court of any violations of probation.
