What is the difference between ACCP Format 2 and SILAC?
The main difference between SILAC and Acceleration Format 2 is the 5 CALL seminar and/or private lessons per week that you would receive in Acceleration that you don’t in SILAC. The base curriculum of both programs is the same. The SILAC program moves at a very quick pace and you are required to learn a substantial amount of grammar and vocabulary in a short space of time. At least 2-3 hours of study per day outside of classes is the minimum you will need to do to keep up with the program. These CALL seminar and/or private classes would give you the opportunity to practice what you learn in the other classes and enable you to study kanji which is not part of the SILAC program. Although reading and writing form part of both programs the main emphasis is on improving speaking skills, which of course would come in useful in any business situation.
