What is the difference between academic honor cords and honor society cords?
Academic honor cords are worn over academic regalia when a graduate’s degree is conferred with academic honors. Graduates can determine their academic honors status by reviewing the student handbook. If you qualify for academic honors, you must purchase these cords with your regalia. Honor society cords are worn over academic regalia when a graduate is a member of an APUS approved honor society. Graduates may wear cords for multiple societies during the ceremony. These cords will be sent to graduates with their tickets in mid April. Graduates must denote their involvement with an honor society on their commencement R.S.V.P. form. If you did not select your honor society membership on your R.S.V.P. form, please contact commencement@apus.edu to update your honors status.
