What is the difference between a Wiccan and a Witch?
The answer to this question is complicated ’cause these words dont have standard definitions, and people use them in different contexts. Some people consider witch and wiccan to be synonymous, and they use the terms interchangeably. Some people use the word witch as a collective term for many different groups, and a Wiccan is one type or sect of witch. however note the following : Many Wiccans dont consider themselves to be Witches. some consider Wicca to be a separate system of beliefs and practices different from all forms of traditional Witchcraft Some Wiccans reject the witch label simply because it has such negative and evil connotation in the culture. They have abandoned the word, believing Wiccans can never undo the centuries of propaganda and bad press that Witches have endured.
