I hesitate to answer this one, because MANY Witches will disagree with me. For many, many years, I’ve asked people to come with a definition that most people can agree on. Recently, Gypsy Silent Rain published THIS on her marvellous website and, I think, “hits the nail on the head” (reproduced by permission): “I would like to point out that there is a difference in Witchcraft and Wicca. All Wiccans are Witches, but not all Witches are Wiccan. Wicca was founded by Gerald Gardner in the 1950’s. It involves a structure of Pantheons and a lot of pomp and circumstance. The rituals are complex and involve a lot of Tool usage. They have the same basic beliefs that Witches do, but Wiccans add a lot to it. Most people have the misconception that they are the same thing, Witchcraft and Wicca are not. Witchcraft goes back farther. It dates back to the Celts and Druids. Witches believe in two deities and don’t try to confuse the God and Goddess with alot of pantheons. Witches keep it very simple –
