What is the difference between a Whitelist and a Blacklist?
FSM: If a file is written on the hard disc with an extension found in the Whitelist the file will be ‘passed through’ (it won’t be blocked). A Blacklist is exactly the opposite: If the extension of a file to be written is found in the Blacklist EMB will block writing of the file. A: Parental Control: If the website (URL) to be shown is found in the Whitelist it will be shown normally. A Blacklist is exactly the opposite: If a website (URL) in a Blacklist is found EMB will block the site. Whitelist and Blacklist Examples FSM When the file extension “.abc” is put into the Whitelist and FSM works in Whitelist Mode all files with the extension *.abc will be processed normally (ie NOT blocked). However, if that same File Extension is put into the Blacklist (and FSM works in Blacklist Mode) all these files will be blocked. If file extension “.abc” is neither in the Whitelist nor in the Blacklist then these files will be blocked if the FSM works in Whitelist Mode, but allowed (eg not blocked)
