What is the difference between a web site and a web page?
A web site is an electronic address (sometimes referred to as a URL) that stores web pages. A web page is quite simply a physical document that can be viewed in any web browser. It can contain pictures, graphics, and even videos. The more complex the page, the longer it takes for a browser to actually download it. The “heading” page of your web site should contain some basic information about you, and provide the gateway through which your visitors can “enter” your site. It should be fairly simple so that customers can properly “qualify” your site(determine whether-or-not they actually want to visit you). Save all the fancy JAVA and Shockwave coding for your other pages. HTML coded web pages can be of any length, but for our purposes, the information you want to share should be on a page that’s roughly the size of a legal document (8.5″ x 14″).
