What is the difference between a web developer and a web designer?
A web developer by definition builds and maintains websites which is commonly called the back end. A web designer by definition will concept and design the look and feel of the site, commonly referred to as the front end. Some people use these terms interchangeably and sometimes people possess both skills and are able to handle a site from concept to code. It is not common to find someone who possesses both skills at an advanced level. In most cases when both skills are present they still possess a greater proficiency at one over the other.
