What is the difference between a walker and a rollater?

0

These two wonderful walking aids are similar in that they enable someone to be walk. The main difference is that a walker has fixed legs which means they need to be picked up and put down with each step and a rollater has wheels on each leg. A rollater has a seat where someone can rest and thereby enable longer walking. They also have baskets to hold items. Because the rollater does not need to be picked up and down like a walker, fatigue and strength are not the issues they can become with a walker. Walkers tend to be the standard medical equipment provided by insurance and are practical and simple for temporary disabilties. A rollater though has more options in colors and styles.
