What is the difference between a villa and a farmhouse?
This is a difficult question. We use the generic term of “Villa” to refer to self-catering accommodation usually standing on its own (but not always) that offer some privacy such as private swimming pool or garden. It is sometimes the case that the owner might live in the house next door or that the owner might need to pass from the grounds of the property. As for “farmhouse”, we use this term to describe a house or a cluster of houses that have been renovated and split into self-catering apartment for holiday markers. In most case, those “farmhouses” were used for agricultural purposes and are in the Tuscan countryside. For instance you will find a few apartments called Fienile which refers to a hayloft. If you need any clarification about the property, do not hesitate to ask.
