What is the difference between a Type 2 social business and a profit-maximizing business?
In all its operational practices, the Type 2 social business and the profit-maximizing business are exactly the same. The difference is a Type 2 social business is either owned by the poor people who receive the dividends, or the business’s profit goes to a trust created for promoting well-being of a specific population or achieving a social objective.
