Answer triphase are more powerful it also comes with a 3 prong terminal in the US the power is 110 on one side and 110 in the other side using a meter from the middle prong but front side to side you get 220volts this are use for water heaters, ac,soldering stations,big motors,compressors,and some ovens mono phase is the regular power you find at home there is only 110 but sometimes 3 progs in the plug one is ground
