What is the difference between a Trainee Driving Instructor and Fully Qualified Driving Instructor?

0

Trainee Instructors (PDI – Potential Driving Instructor) can be granted a temporary licence to teach while they finish the training for the test of their ability to instruct. This licence normally lasts 6 months. A fully qualified Driving Instructor (ADI – Approved Driving Instructor) has passed all the relevant tests. A PDI will have to display a pink certificate in the window while teaching, while an ADI has to show their green certificate. Without either of these, or one that has expired, a person can not legally take money for driving lessons. Below is an example of what they look like.
