What is the difference between a torte and a double layer cake?

0

A double layer cake has two layers of cake and one layer of filling. The total height on a double layer cake is about 3 inches. When we torte a cake, we split each of the layers again – so that you have 4 thinner layers of cake, and 3 layers of filling. This makes a torte approximately 3.5 – 4 inches high. A torte is more elegant than a double layer cake and, depending on how much filling you like, you may consider it to be tastier. However, it’s more time consuming to bake and requires more ingredients, so it is therefore slightly more expensive. All of our cakes can be done either as double layer cake or a torte – the choice is yours!
