What is the difference between a easer and a railer?
A ‘teaser’ is a short (usually no more than 30 seconds) trailer that gives the audience a small glimpse/impression of what the movie will be about. It’s usually released by the studio in order to start the “buzz” on their film, which might not even have started shooting yet (lots of teasers don’t even feature any actual scenes from their respective movies). A ‘trailer’ is the full-blown video montage from the film that is usually shown in theaters before a feature presentation begins. They generally last between 1-2 minutes and feature plot points, cast info and scenes from the actual movie.
