What is the difference between a suspended drivers license and suspended registration/plates?
A suspended DL means you have no authority to drive any vehicle. A suspended registration means a particular car has not met the requirements to be registered in the state. For example, if your car does not pass a smog check, your registration may be suspended. That means it is illegal to drive that car on the streets, but you can still drive another car because your license is valid. If your license is suspended, then it would be illegal for you to drive all cars, but legal for someone with a valid DL to drive your registered car.
