What is the difference between a structured and an unstructured Interview?
• Unstructured Interview This is the “old-fashioned” interview where two people just talked about the position and their skills. This didnt follow a particular format and was often very subjective. • Structured Interview The structured interview has a set of standardized questions which are asked of every candidate. The answers to the questions are correlated to how successful the candidates are in the job later until it can be used as a strong predictor of success. Structured interviews are considered more unbiased since they relate responses to predicted job success rather than how well the interviewer gets along with the candidate.
